Your Health Starts in Your GUT
Removable gastric balloon helps you eat less to lose weight without invasive surgery.
A safe, non-surgical, non-invasive, non-permanent, incision-free weight-loss program
What is a Gastric Balloon?
Highly effective, non-surgical medical procedure
No stomach cutting, stapling, or banding
Lose 3X the amount of weight compared to diet & exercise alone
12 month medically managed support program to keep the weight off long term
A great way to jump start a new, healthy lifestyle
How does it work?
Before deciding on any treatment you will have a free consultation to discuss your goals and what type of results we can achieve for you. We will talk about your current BMI and set objectives so you can get the weight off quickly and jump start your healthier lifestyle. We will also schedule your complementary non-invasive baseline liver FibroScan.
Candidates for the gastric balloon are typically within a BMI range of 30-40 and trying to lose 20-40 pounds. However, patients with higher BMI seeking greater weight loss may also be good candidates for the gastric balloon. This can only be determined during the consultation. After your consultation, you will have a clear understanding of what to expect during your 12-month program and be on the path to a slimmer and healthier you.
During your treatment, the gastric balloon is inserted into the stomach from the esophagus and filled with a saline solution once in place. This quick, 15 minute outpatient procedure is done under a mild sedative without the need for general anesthesia. Your treatment will take place in our private outpatient surgery center. After the gastric balloon is placed, you may experience nausea or discomfort while your stomach adjusts to the balloon but you may return to normal activities in the first few days.
The Orbera™ gastric balloon retrains your stomach and makes it easier to practice portion control and intake fewer calories. Gastric balloon is removed at 6 months. The removal process is just as simple; it is an outpatient procedure that takes about 20 minutes without a long downtime or recovery process.
You will continue your support program for 6 more months under the guidance of medical professionals. This is essential for long lasting results.

Let’s Work Together
Compared to other costly weight loss options, Orbera®’s weight loss program helps you learn to keep the weight off.
Orbera® works, because it gets to the root of the problem
— Your eating habits.
The gastric balloon is inserted orally through your esophagus and placed directly into your stomach during a quick, non-surgical procedure. There is no need for any incisions, stitches or scars.
After the first six months of the weight loss program the stomach balloon is carefully removed and the aftercare program continues.
Orbera® is more than a balloon.
It's a year-long program for helping you lose weight by changing your habits.
Placing the balloon
The entire non-surgical, outpatient procedure takes about 20 minutes.
First, a diagnostic endoscopy is done to ensure that it is safe to perform the procedure. Once you are mildly sedated and comfortable, the procedure can begin.
The deflated gastric balloon is inserted through the esophagus and into your stomach. A syringe is then used to fill the balloon, with a sterile saline solution, to about the size of a grapefruit.
Removing the balloon
After you’ve had six months to change the way you eat and work with the support team to improve your nutrition, the balloon is removed. The simple and non-surgical procedure is very similar to the placement process, only taking 20 minutes.
